Beautiful wedding photography for Lovers

The feel of film

Category: Photography

Some more playing with images. Trying to get the feel of film from my digital camera. There are a lot of images enhancements that have that film feel even without grain. Ronald was so nice to be in front of my camera for a couple of shots, I think I took about six shots.

So see here the result.

Having Fun

Category: Photography | Portrait

What is the most fun of photography? My answer is photographing people. As a wedding photographer I love to shoot details, I am a huge fan of details but in the end I like to photograph people. Capture them in way that they recognise themselves. Hear them say that they look beautiful, great, funny, amazing, etc. in an image is one of the best complements that I can get.

So every time I capture people I try to let their character shine through and if possible have them smiling, having fun. With people having fun they are themselves, they forget the camera and can be who they really are.

A little while back I had the chance to photograph the lovely Gerti and capture these fun images and have some fun.

A couple of months ago I was asked to shoot some business portraits for two lovely ladies for a business magazine. Now I had no idea about what a business portrait should be like, I just wanted to bring out the fun and spirit of these beautiful ladies. So that is what we did.

Yesterday I received the message that the magazine is done and a copy is on it's way and I looking forward to see. So now is the right time to show some images on the blog. It was fun to create the portraits and to now finally show them.

Inspiration: Save the Date

A couple of weeks ago I had a nice tea date with Vanessa from Your Fairy Tale she is such a talented lady and really enthousiastic about organising and planning weddings.

We got to discussing the options that couples have with the images of their engagement session, as every couple receives an engagement session as a gift when they book their wedding. Vanessa wanted to know if couples could get their Save the Date invitations created from the images as they become increasingly more popular. This is indeed an option and it gave me the idea to help visualise what they can look like and I have created two examples.

Of course this is just a small selection and so much more is possible.

Inspiration inside Scoop

I found Christina Greve of Divas and Dreams via Chic Critique forum. As a photographer I find it fascinating to read about what other photographers have to share. Christine is a portrait photographer and make the most beautiful images. Her mantra is it is not the camera who makes the image but the person behind it. No bag full of gear to prove that she is professional but the bare minimum. I like that and I love to share the magazine that she created.

Here you can read the first volume of Inside Scoop. Have fun.

Zandvoort Vooges Wedding: Femke + Peter

They were in the Florida Keys and Peter had been thinking about a proposal and when to ask her. He brought a ring and when they went out to capture the setting sun on video Peter had other plans. So in the lights of the setting sun he went down on one knee and asked Femke to marry him and she said yes.

Just like this past week she said yes again and again on the beach. The sun was not setting but luckily it was shining bright and had enough time to stay out and capture this perfect day. I am so happy that Annerieke pointed Femke and Peter my way because it gave us the possibie to capture their wedding. We are honored to have been there to capture your day. Have fun in Spain while reliving your wedding day for the second time.

Zandvoort Vooges Wedding Preview: Femke + Peter

Category: Photography | Wedding

Sometimes you meet the love of your life when you least expect it, when you work together for what seems like ages and then one day you look up and you know. When Femke and Peter found each other they first denied it, like that was even possible. That by saying nothing was going on that would make it so. But love is stronger, love can't be denied and love will concur all in the end.

That is so true for Femke and Peter. Working together they found each other, fell in love and were happy to say I do in front of a small group of family and friends. As always a small preview.

Praktica MTL5

I lost it, it was gone and I had no idea where I stored it. In a box maybe or in one of my drawers, still nowhere to be found. So a couple of weeks ago I opened the door a closest which I looked into so many times before and then there it was. In a little box waiting, unscratched still working.

With this camera it all started when I was a little girl and I have to go out an buy some film soon to shoot with.

Landgoed Elswout Engagement: Femke + Peter

It there anything better than photographing an engagement session on a beautiful location with a nice couple? I don't think so. What a pleasure it was when we could walk the gardens of Landgoed Elswout and the sun kissed the environment. The little boys playing and being part of this whole experience. And just like with every engagement I had so many images to choose from.

Especially with couples that already have children it is a engagement/family session and kids always have their own plan. Finding things in nature that I would never pick up. "Look!" and through my viewfinder I was looking at a snail, "Thank you very much."

We had a great time and I think it shows in the images. If you want to see more of the nice engagement CLICK HERE FOR THE SLIDESHOW.
