We are of shooting our final wedding of the year. It being close to Christmas everybody was hoping for snow and cold but throw in some sunshine and we have Spring with the temperature we are now having. But with the year wrapping up I had to do the best of 2011 engagements.

I love shooting the engagement session. If you are not familiar with Admiron Photography you have to know that we invite every couple to an engagement session as a gift. Why you might ask? Easy because we want you to not only get used to the camera but to also walk away with a beautiful series of you as a couple. Another reason why I love the E-session is the chance to have a fun afternoon with my couples. We walk, we talk, we laugh and relax all the while capturing the couple as they truly are.

We did some real nice sessions did year and here a showcase of the best of 2011. We would love to have you in front of our camera next year. So don't hesitate and get right on it we have a spot for you.

It always nice when couples decide they want to include their engagement images in their wedding. A great way to do so is the reception album. A special album that will hold all the best wishes of family and friends to cherish a lifetime. When Dieuwke and Johan told me they opted to have one I was really happy because I knew their images would look perfect in a reception album.

Standing in front of the closet deciding what to wear. Panic attack, shallow breathing and a cold sweat! Knowing you will be photographed probably makes it worse I know it would for me. So I get questions from future brides what to wear on their engagement shoot. Are there things we are not allowed to wear?

Well fortunately there are no rules at least not as far as I am concerned. I always advice my brides to wear an outfit that makes them feel comfortable, that makes them feel really good. For some it is a great dress or a power suit, casual jeans and heals. Yes it is that simple. There is no right or wrong and the best thing is that if you have more outfits that make you feel good you can wear them (all).

If there is one advice I can give than it would be to choose something with color like a shirt, jacket, sweater or scarf because it always works really well on camera. So open that closet and choose an outfit that you love and it will show in the images.

Because Dieuwke and Johan brought their two little boys to their engagement session I just had to capture some cute images of the whole family. I think I captured even more images of the whole family than of Dieuwke and Johan together. With so many great images to choose from I just had to put some images out on the blog as well.

The boys are truly children of their parents because they were just as easy to photograph as Dieuwke and Johan. Here some great images. 

Happy Monday.

The world is a stage, a saying that applies especially to Dieuwke and Johan. They met back stage at for one of the biggest musical productions in that year, Beauty and the Beast, where they both worked. Only the title does not apply to Dieuwke and Johan as they are two beautiful people.

A tale as old as time, how the lyrics of that song tells the tale of Dieuwke and Johan. Because when their eyes met for the first time, they laughed and talked to each other without saying a word. Barely even friends but from that first moment they knew without saying what they felt about each other. Their lives were miles apart and still just by sharing that first look all of a sudden something changed and they were so very close.

Six years have passed and their lives have changed since that first encounter back stage. They went from just being two to three and then four with the birth of their two adorable sons and they are a family now. But they were not officially a family yet and that will change.

Soon because Johan proposed to Dieuwke on New Years Eve two year ago because their love started a long time ago around Christmas and New Year. So no big surprise that this time of year holds a special place in their lives and that they decided to choose this period to say I do to eachother. A time of joy, hope, new life and celebration. Ever just as sure as the sun will rise.

Een van mijn favorieten!

Sometimes it's a challenge to get to where you are going, to reach a goal. We made the appointment more than a month ago but while trying to get to the destination everything seemed to go wrong. A bridge that did not want to close with a detour as a result that took me more than half an hour. When I finally arrived at the location there was nowhere to park. With halloween waiting every family near Blaricum went to get a pumpkin.

But it was so worth it. We met and how glad I am we did not postponed. Because I met Johan, Dieuwke and their two adorable son's to shoot their engagement session. Because Dieuwke and Johan are getting married very soon. We shot the engagement near their wedding location and after seeing it I can not wait to shoot their wedding soon.

Wrapped in autumn colors we had a great time. Here a first preview.

"I have a plan." Wim told his mother not detailing the how and what. You see Judith had said on many occasion that she did not want to get married. She loved Wim and Wim loved her and that was more than enough. But Wim did not agree. He wanted to show the world that this beautiful girl by his side is the love of his live not just his girlfriend and he knew she would feel the same way if only he would ask her. 

So he went to a jeweler and goldsmith and under their guidance a ring came to life that contained every element he loved so much about Judith. It was sophisticated, smart and on top of all beautiful.

All the ingredients where their to ask Judith to marry him the only thing he needed was a location. Which presented itself when they went on vacation to Bonaire to enjoy their passion for scuba diving. With this ring burning in his pocket they went on their way. And on this Island, in this romantic setting Judith did not hesitated. Her heart melted hearing his question, seeing the ring. There was only one answer she could give and that was yes.

Wim and Judith I had a great time during our walk through Haarlem and I am looking forward to your wedding next year.

A love story a story of love is there anything sweeter than that? Two people finding that special someone a soulmate a person connecting on a level never encountered before. An with a love story a boy meets a girl, like Wim met Judith. He came from the west and she came from the east and they met in the north during college. Judith finished school but lingered just a little in her college town waiting unconsciously for the man of her dreams. Finding him that evening on a night out not knowing that her life would not be the same again. 

This week I had the pleasure of walking along the streets of Haarlem together with Judith and Wim for there engagement shoot. It turned out to be a lovely evening talking about their wedding day. Here of course a preview of their session.

Their eyes crossed and a smile appeared on their faces. I know him a little over 6 years now, she said answering my question how long they know each other. But on July first Martijn knows me exactly 6 years. So in fact I know him longer.

They played in the same music company and while Meike saw and liked Martijn from the start Martijn's mind was elsewhere. She tried to get near him, tried to chat with him but Martijn was destined to find a fork for his food and Meike cursed that she did not have one for him. And so their ways parted Martijn never knowing that he missed the opportunity to meet a great girl.

But they met again at a music performance a couple of months later. Meike not prepared that she would see Martijn again was surprised when she ran into him. This time she stood out from the crowd from the first moment he spotted her. They talked and laughed and chatted the night the way.

This summer they make it official and say I do. I am looking forward to their wedding in a beautiful spot in the heart of Amsterdam. Want to see more of their engagement session check the slideshow HERE.

After receiving their inquiry we talked on the phone. Martijn and me, discussing his wedding in August to Meike. While Martijn biked home, I tried to explain the style of Admiron Photography. At first I thought he was on a train somewhere but it was just the wind making a lot of noise. It did not prevent Martijn from hearing every word said and we agreed to meet for their engagement session soon. 

And we did on Sunday. I always check the weather forcast and there was rain near. But Martijn and Meike sticked to their guns. So while the rain was poring down we started in their appartment and I soon as I saw a stop of blue in the sky we raced outside. Weaponed with an umbrella and hat we went on our way. We had 3 seasons in half an hour but boy did we get some nice images.
