Beautiful wedding photography for Lovers

Why an engagement session?

Why would you want to have an engagement session? We are not very photogenic or it feels kind of acquard have a photographer taking picture or what will we do for an hour? I hear this a lot and that is the main reason why we offer every couple a complementory engagement session. It is part of every package and you can choose to use it. I recommend it not only because you will feel so much at ease during your wedding day. We have seen eachother before the wedding, spend time before the wedding and most importantly you know what you can expect. Can see how I will capture you and will capture you again on your wedding day. And it always turns out the couple is really photogenic, it is not acquard to have a photographer shooting images and the hour just flies by.

Best thing is that you will also have some great shot of you and your fiancee. You can print it on a canvas, put it up on Facebook as your profile picture or incorporate it into the wedding in some way. Like a reception album that you will want to see over and over or use in the invitation. You see so many reasons to really want an engagement session.

The color purple

Category: Personal

We have a weather warning. Thunderstorms, rain, floods, the works is coming our way. All of it because we had one day of heat. The sky turned from blue to gray to black. So a random fact, I prefer purple and to support this an image while the rain is pooring down.

Old Church Wedding preview: Giullitta and Liselotte

Category: Wedding

This wedding was perfect! I know it sounds impossible and when you know of all the things that did not go as planned you will think me crazy but it turned out to be truly perfect.

But this wedding day of Giullitta and Liselotte had some bumps in the road that had to be overcome. From major bumps, Liselotte's best friend and witness could not be there and she was sadly missed on this important day. To small bumps like the taxi and chauffeur of the wedding car that did not show. Luckily a new driver was found and we were on our way.

When we were racing in the 2CV with Sky behind the wheel it felt like we where all of a sudden part of some crazy movie where the bride had to be rushed to church, which was in fact the case, with tourists jumping out of the way, running for their life. Literally they were running for their life, I kid you not. When we finally found the horn in the car, Amsterdam knew we were coming. "We are not going to be late on my account." Sky yelled while running red lights and honking the horn. "Move out of the way people!" and they did. Believe me they did. Resulting in comic scenes with us praying in the car that we would not hit someone while arriving just in time at the church to let the ceremony begin.

And then there was the rain, ah the rain. From morning to night. But on this day I found out why the sun did not show. It simply chickened out, hid behind the clouds, did not want to compete. You see, Giullitta looked so beautiful, so absolutely radiant, spreading the light of love. When Liselotte saw her, there was no denying this is what true love looks like. Shining so bright the sun did not even dared to come out. And it did not matter because no matter what this day was perfect.

Naturally I have to show an image that I love.

One of those days

Category: Personal

Sometimes I want to say something, make a statement, try to convince with stringing all these words together. But what am I saying? Really? I don't know. Sometimes it is better to just say nothing and let the image do the talking. Especially when it is just one of those days.

In parallel

It was hot at least 25C and while driving to the station the windows of the car went down to let some air in. A wedding suit is nice but not when the temperatures are tropical. I offered to hold his coat and while walking around the station and shooting I never realised that I was holding a jacket while photographing. For all most the complete shoot.

The temperature in the station was more agreeable and I had left my jacket in the car, because well I would not be in any of the images I thought. Until I saw this image doing things in parallel.

Engagement: Myronne & Bart

The engagement session was the first time we actually met, in person. We emailed and phoned and emailed and phoned some more and then we actually got to meet on this lovely afternoon in Muiderberg. From the start it was clear that Bart and Myronne are a team. A fun team at that. They talked and laughed, they shared their idea's and opinions and that's what makes them a great couple.

They met three years ago at work as Bart explained and they made quite and impression on each other. A once in a life time impression. This one meeting that would change their lives forever, giving it a whole different direction that they would probably thought possible. But here they are three years later, blessed with a boy and a girl and ready to get married.

On this almost tropical day we went in downtown Muiderberg and had a great time shooting away. Their little baby girl joined us and how sweet she was not a sound. Bart and Myronne I can't wait for the wedding that is coming soon.

If you want to see more of this sweet e-session take a look here for their slideshow.

Album Design Mireille & Tobias

Category: Albums

It is always a pleasure to complete an album and deliver it to the couple. We finished another great album design. It is so much fun to see the images they selected and have it all come together in the album. The end result is truly stunning so I had to capture some images of it.

The album is as you can see a flush mount album 30cmx30cm with a black leather cover. If you want to see the whole album you can take a look here.

I need help. There I said it. With a sigh of relief because that is how it feels. After blogging for more than 1,5 years getting blogposts together using Lightroom + Photoshop and resizing takes time, a lot of time. Off course the actual writing takes time but no way near generating all the images. After streamlining my workflow I decided I had to go and look for a tool that could help me make this image creating thing easier.

And I found it! I looked at BlogStomp before when they only had the Photoshop actions to generate images but when I visited their website again I found out they have a new app that helps with images generation all in one go. Up to 4 images can be created, mixed up, resized, sharpened and watermarked. I love it, as this is so much easier than the way I used to do it. So if you are a photographer looking to reduce your blog image creation process check out blogstomp.

Engagement preview: Myronne & Bart

Three times a charm but in our case it was four times lucky. After setting and rescheduling a date with Myronne and Bart we scheduled one of the best days for their E-session. The weather was beautiful and in the heart of Muiderberg Myronne and Bart showed me some great locations that we will surely revisit on the their wedding day that will be coming soon.

Today a preview on the blog and who would have thought that we had some Caribbean in Muiderberg. Bart showed this small beach area and well it was just perfect. Just like a beach on a small island. What do you think?

Featured! Small Wedding Styles

Whew all our public holidays have past with this Monday being the last until Christmas. The realisation of not having another public holiday for about half a year, well it hurt. Just a little. How nice it was to receive an email from Stacy of Small Wedding Styles that they were going to feature the wedding of Martin and Esterella that we captured last year. Small Wedding Styles is all about elopments and small weddings with a limit amount of guests.

Well Martin and Esterella's wedding fit the bill as it was a small stylish wedding. I am so proud that this wedding has been featured. Thank you Small Wedding Styles. Go on and have a look here and let me know what you think!

Have a great day.
